New Orleans (Sept. 24, 2005) Ð U.S. Navy Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 2nd Class Scott Wilson, a search and rescue (SAR) swimmer assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Eight (HSL-48), prepares to be lowered during a search and rescue mission over New Orleans. U.S. Navy SAR crews lifted off just a few hours after Hurricane Rita made landfall. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Rita humanitarian assistance operations are led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
