050925-N-6204K-003 Louisiana (Sept. 25, 2005) Ð Sailors assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Eight (HSL-48) assist Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) personnel during an assessment of Port Arthur and Lake Charlotte communities in Louisiana following Hurricane Rita's landfall. HSL-48 is currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Rita humanitarian assistance operations are led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
