Mississippi (Sept. 24, 2005) - A U.S. Navy aircrew member from an MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron Fourteen (HM-14), returns to the aircraft for more bottled water and Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE) to distribute to Mississippi civilians who have gathered in a field. HM-14 is currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Rita humanitarian assistance operations are led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
